How does Baseball Roulette work?

One player is the House and runs the table. Everyone places their bets using the Baseball Roulette gaming mat and betting tokens. Bet on one square or cover as many as you want. Play At-Bat Betting, Per-Pitch Betting, or both. Get your chips down before the House calls “NO MORE BETS.”

What is At-Bat Betting?

Place your bets before the first pitch on how you think the at-bat will end: Home Run, Triple, Double, Single, Walk, Hit By Pitch, Strikeout, Caught Out, or Ground Out. Once the first pitch is thrown, you’re locked in until the at-bat is over.

What is Per-Pitch Betting?

Want more action? Bet on what happens on the very next pitch — Ball, Hit or Strike/Foul. Place your bets before the pitch. Betting closes when the pitcher starts the motion or the House calls “NO MORE BETS.” You don’t have to bet every pitch; jump in whenever you want.

Can we play At-Bat and Per-Pitch Betting at the same time?

Absolutely. Keep it simple with At-Bat Betting, add Per-Pitch Betting when you want more action, or play both at the same time. Your game. Your rules.

Who is the House?

Accepted Answer

The House runs the table, sells the chips, pays the winners, collects from the losers and settles any arguments. Rotate the House every few innings or let the same person run the table all game. Congratulations. You’re the House now. You’re in charge.

Do I need to know a lot about baseball?

No. If you know the basics, you can start playing almost immediately. The outcomes and payouts are printed directly on the gaming mat, and the included instructions cover the baseball weirdness when it happens.

How many people can play?

There is no set player count. Baseball Roulette works just as well with a couple of friends as it does with a table full of baseball fans. One person runs the table as the House and everyone else gets their bets down.

Do I have to bet on every pitch or at-bat?

No. Bet as much or as little as you want. Sit one out, jump back in on the next pitch or stick with At-Bat Betting all night. That’s part of the fun.

Pretty much any baseball game. Pro, college, heck even Little League. Live or rerun — if someone is throwing baseballs, you’re ready to play.

What happens if there is a weird baseball play?

Baseball has been finding strange ways to confuse people for a very long time. We planned for it. The official scoring decision makes the call, and the full Baseball Roulette rules cover errors, dropped third strikes, intentional walks, fielder’s choices, interference and more.

Do we have to play for money?

No. Play for free, play for bragging rights or set the stakes before the first pitch. Baseball Roulette is intended for entertainment. Players are responsible for complying with applicable laws regarding wagering.

What are the chip values?

The included chips are $1, $2, $5 and $10. Want lower stakes? Make them 10¢, 20¢, 50¢ and $1. The House can also set minimum and maximum bets before the game starts.

How do the payouts work?

Every betting outcome has its payout printed directly on the gaming mat. Winning bets are paid at the odds shown on the table. Losing bets are collected by the House. No charts to look up. The odds are right in front of you.
